Crafty Sentiments Challenge - Border Punch

This week's Crafty Sentiments Challenge is to use your border punches.  I'm really liking kraft cards at the moment and I wanted to create a card using Amy from Crafty Sentiments - I think she's sooo cute and looks adorable sat in front of a circle and I just had to add a bit of glitter to her top ;)  So here she is!  I also added some white dots (really like white on kraft!) using my Bazzil stitching template (one of the best things I've bought.)

So if you feel in the mood to use those border punches or just want to be inspired by the Crafty Sentiments DT pop on over to the Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog and check it out.

Card: Kraft
Coloured using: copics
Paper: Papermania, Ikea and errrr, sorry don't know!
Other: Circle & Labels eight nestie, Paper trimmer, Bazzill stitch template, white gel pen, Fiskars scallop border punch

Top Tip Tuesday

Hi All, it's Tuesday which means time for Top Tip Tuesday, this week the TTT team have been sharing some recycling tips so I thought I'd share mine.  I made this card below by recycling my scraps of paper and recycling some packing brown paper (the thick kind!).  But I guess my main top tip is for recycling packing paper/card, it means you can create using 'kraft' without paying out!

Home sweet home

Okay so I'm a naughty blogger, I realise I haven't blogged anything for ages.  I'm going to blame it partly on my laptop blowing up and partly on my laziness (yes I'll admit it!)

Anyway, I created this card for a friend a couple of weeks ago and I'm finally sharing it!  I used one of my DigiSparkle digistamps - Fairy homes which I coloured with my copics (and then added liquid pearls to the spots - not my best move but...) the sentiment is my handwriting again - hmmm! Enjoy and hopefully I'll be back soon.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge

Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge this week has been punctuated with a major issue this week namely the fact that my laptop blew up (literally, smoke and all!)  Therefore, everything has been harder as I am having to use my DH's laptop but I have nothing.  Oh and I have to apologise for the poor photo - no help from DH!

This week's challenge is to use up your scraps, as I always have so many paper scraps (my drawer is overflowing) I have tried to use them up by punching out circles from my scraps.  I have used Flopsy with a flower from Crafty Sentiments, I have used the nestie out of the box technique and added a pearl and I finished it off with a sentiment from Elzybells.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge

Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge this week is definitely a challenge for me.  This week's challenge is to use blue, grey and yellow, colours that aren't my forte individually let alone together!  But I gave it my best.  I created this using Fairy Pat from Crafty Sentiments and gave it definition by adding the dots around the edge, I think it works!

Card: White square blank
Sentiment: Papermania clear stamps
Copics: B000, B00, Y06, Y08, E33, E35
Paper: Black tones from Papermania, Yellow paper from my stash
Other: Circle nestie, Paper trimmer, Bazzill stitch template, black gel pen, blue ink with dauber

Top Tip Tuesday

Top Tip Tuesday is a challenge blog with a twist, you don't enter a card but you enter a tip!  So without further ado here's my tip for this week:

How to cut out digi images using your nestie's

I usually arrange as many digi's as I can on a page (keeping in mind how I want to cut them out).  On the picture you can see the top right hand corner of my A4 page.  I place my nestie on the page and then work out where I want it to be (or spend ages trying to decide which shape/size works best.)  I then use masking tape to lightly stick the nestie (on the outside) to the paper.  I trim around the nestie so that it's an ok size to go through my big shot.  You can then emboss.  I also use this technique to create apertures (remembering to put the masking tape on the inside) and to create frames i.e. using more than one nestie.

DigiSparkle Challenge

Just a quick reminder that the new challenge has begun over at Digisparkle Challenge.  This fortnight all you have to do is enter a card featuring a DigiSparkle digistamp with a Girls theme.  Here is the card I've chosen for my inspiration for this challenge.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge - Use a Digi

Hi all, this week there is a bit of a change, Crafty Sentiments Challenge has changed to a Thursday now.  This week's challenge is to use a digi, so I've used Crafty Sentiments Amy sitting which I had as a digi.

I was getting into a bit of a rut so decided to mix things up a bit and create a bookmark rather than a card.  I also tried out a technique I've been wanting to try for a while - creating a sky by inking over a cloud template (please remember it was my first go and I've decided a need a lighter blue ink - shopping trip needed, oh what a hardship!)

Anyway, here are the bookmarks:

Card: bookmark templates from Baker Ross
Sentiment: Papermania clear stamps
Copics: Sorry I din't write them down, whoops!
Paper: yellow paper from Papermania
Other: Scalloped oval & oval nesties, Bazzill stitch template, white gel pen, black gel pen

Digi Blog Hop

I just want to introduce a new digi hop, this is one where all you have to do is hop around all our DT members blogs collect a letter from each member and then pop back to the Digi Blog Hop blog and tell us the phrase it makes up.  You will be then entered into the draw to win a load of cool digi's.

If you've arrived here from Ruth aka TipTop's blog then you're in the right place. If not then hop on over to the Digi Blog Hop and start from the beginning.

So, here is my card:

I've used an image from Michelle Perkett, isn't she elegant! I cut out using my nesties and mounted on a Papermania designer card blank after adding a pretty purple organza ribbon.

Yes my letter is i you guessed it!

Right, now it's time to pop on over to Claire's blog and see her super creation.

Pink Gem Candy

Just take a peek at this gorgeous candy from Janet over at Pink Gem, she's too good to us!!!
I would love to win those promarkers, they're on my wish list but as I've just put an order in elsewhere they've moved further down my list! And how cute are her stamps, just adorable!!
Closes 23rd September.

My big girls

I don't normally share much family news on here but I had to share our 'big day'.  My twin girls  went to school for the first time ever.  They're doing half days for a fortnight and then they're in full time.  You wouldn't believe how excited they were, Jessica woke up and the first thing she asked was if she could get dressed into her uniform.  They got to school and went straight in (timed it perfectly) I thought Jess would come back out as she looked really nervous but she followed Em in and that was it, my babies were babies no more!  They definitely enjoyed it because Jess was in a major grump when we left because she wanted to stay, Em on the other hand told me she was tired and needed a rest!

In lieu of a card I thought I would share some photos of my beautiful girls in their school uniforms.  They are my hubby's amazing ones, we did them at the weekend because I knew we wouldn't get great ones this morning.

Jessica & Emily together - they do love each other really!

Copics, pleats and folds

Sorry for the short post, my mind is elsewhere.  It's my twin girls first day of school tomorrow.  They're really excited to go (for the only time in their school life!) so I'm mentally elsewhere!  Anyway I'm sure I'll be back soon to show you photos!!

This card is for Copic creations - the current challenge is pleats or folds in clothing.

Candy from Susie

Here's a photo of the yummy candy on offer from Susie, you gotta check out her blog - love her cards and love seeing her die cuts as well!
