My little sister is 18!

I can't quite believe my little sis is 18! I can remember her being born and it was only yesterday! Oh well, I know life goes on but does it have to move quite so quickly? Anyway, this is the card I made for her (Mum says she was chuffed!).

She is a big Tigger fan so I got this image off the internet and coloured with my copics. I backed with some brand new Smirk designer paper, a black satin ribbon (cheap off the market but doesn't look cheap!) and a brand new butterfly charm and I finished it off with a computer generated Happy birthday 18 which I cut out with my nesties.

I'm actually quite proud of this one - it came together quite nicely and I'm pleased with my copics (makes the colours jump out) and I feel I'm finally getting to grips with using ribbons and charms.
This card is for these challenges:
ABC Challenge - N is for New
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Four legged and furry (I presume Tigger counts!)
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Things with wings (tenuous I know but there are butterflies all over it!)

Birthday card selection

I seem to have had quite a few birthdays recently so here are the cards I made! None of them are amazing but they a least they all got something handmade! I's photographed them so i figured I may as well share them.

This first one is for a neighbour and uses a Digistamp boutique image.

These are for a twin girl and boy's first birthday, I created the number one on the computer and overlayed it on the same digipaper used for the background.

This is for my DH's nephew, I used a new Digisparkle image, Arty the Dragon and coloured him with my Derwent Coloursoft pencils which I blended with Sansador.

Orange dino

Yes, you will notice a theme, probably for quite a while knowing me! I've finally taken the plunge and purchased a set of copic ciao's. I was gutted that they were rubbish until I bought the right paper (many thanks to Amanda on splitcoaststampers) and wow they're amazing, I love the way the colours pop.

I love this dino, he's a new DigiSparkle product and was just waiting for the right way to use him. I found several challenges that just called out for him.

This card is for these challenges:
Digital Tuesday - kraft, orange and 1 other plus a digi image
Sweet sketch - sketch
Bee Crafty - Distressing (around the edges are slightly distressed)

White square card blank
Image - Dino from DigiSparkle
Sentiment - handwritten
Other - Orange, kraft, brown paper from stash, hole punch, whispers permenant brown marker.

Birthday Book

I wanted to do this for this Project Tuesday Birthday Book Challenge, but I missed the date (by quite a lot - I need to be more organised!) I created this book as a traditional sewn book, I printed off the pages and trimmed them before sewing them into the black card. I then decorated the front with these free digipapers and a DigiSparkle image.

Can you spot a theme?

Labels again! I know but once I start on something I just keep going. Not convinced by this - should have used a more subtle pink on the wording! Oh well, we live and learn!

Card - Pink card from stash

Sentiment - Happy birthday stamp (can't remember who by!)
Other - Pink ink, black ink, Papermania sticky ribbon, black card, white paper, nesties and big shot

Uncle's birthday

I somehow arrived at Wednesday last week without really knowing where the week had gone. This wasn't great as it meant I had to pack as we were going awaythe next day, make sure I had photographed all the cards I wanted to blog this week and then I suddenly realised it was my Uncle's birthday on Saturday! So this is my rush job card (why I hadn't got any in my collection that were suitable I don't know!)

I used a Paddington bear I had stamped, coloured and cut out ready (thank goodness!), so all I had to do was add the blue oval and the sentiment. Why is it that when you're in a rush things just don't seem to come together! Anyway, I finally added 'Uncle' with Papermania alphabet and handwrote the rest - not great but it was appreciated (I spoke to them yesterday!)

Card: CardTonic tall card blank

Sentiment: Papermania alphabet and blue ink and handwritten with blue gel pen

A touch of pink

Those who know me well will tell you I'm not a pink person, so you can imagine the horror of having twin girls - absoloutely everything I was given was pink! Well, I seem to have mellowed over the years hence why this amount of pink doesn't horrify me anymore! This is one of the new stamps from DigiSparkle, this is Jane. I think she's really cute! And if you like Jane you must meet Peter!

Simple Jemima

I'm still at my Mum's and as we have loads of family due to arrive I thought I'd pop up a simple one. I definitely seem to be leaning towards clean and simple at the moment.

A pile of challenges

I worked quite hard on these, and as I'm staying at my Mum's without all my stash and I was working on the floor not a desk, I feel quite pleased with them! Nothing like blowing your own trumpet, is there!

This first card is for a whole pile of challenges:

Pile it on: Good things com in three's - like my 3 little monkey's!
But in the card sense: 3 ribbons (the 3rd one is hiding behing the flower) 3 flowers (layered, I know it's flimsy!) and 3 papers.

Stamp something: Birthday somethings

Get sketchy Well that was the sketch!

Pollycraft: Favourite things

This definitely uses my favourite things, my nesties and big shot! How did I cope without them? Well, no more dodgy circles for me (well not many anyway!)

Card blank - Elco, Square
Paper - Paper pad free from Quick Cards made Easy Magazine
Flowers - Papermania elements and mini silver brad
Ribbon - Glued flower and straight navy blue ribbon & white sparkly ribbon from stash
Sentiment - Papermania mini birthday clear set
Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, Sansador oil, silver gel pen

This second one is using the sketch from Friday sketchers. I really like Robbie the robot but couldn't work out how to use him. I'm still not convinced it has shown him off properly, I think I needed different colour stars, I don't know. Any suggestions? Please be honest, it's the only way I'll learn! Oh and the blue doesn't look very blue in the photo; I need to practice my photography as well as my colouring!

Card blank - Elco, Square
Paper - From my stash and embellished with stamp from Papermania Alphamania clear set

A quickie!

Just a quickie, as it's getting a bit late, and way past my bedtime! It's a card for my brother-in-law, a masculine card but without having to find a relevant theme!

Paper: Papermania Colossal
Stamps: Papermania alphabet stamps

Jemima

My girls adore Jemima Puddleduck at the moment, they like a lot of the Beatrix Potter characters but there is something about Jemima that appeals to them. I think my DH is getting a bit sick of reading it though! I got this stamp free with a magazine and have just been waiting to frame her properly. I finally got my oval nesties a couple of weeks ago so now I can display her as she sould be. I like the blue and pink mix, it seems to work (I suppose you can't mess with a colour combination that has worked for so long!)

Card - Papermania Designer blanks (All Ocassions set - I think!)

Rock and Roll

It was my DH's birthday recently which gave me an excuse to do a slightly more time consuming card. (Prepared before we went on holiday luckily!) I followed a template from Cardmaking & Papercraft and used my new nesties to create the stars. He appreciated the music in the background as it is a tune he plays a lot at the moment!

Card - white square card blank

Guitar - template from Cardmaking and Papercraft

Stars - nesties using card from my stash

Cupcake

I recently bought a cupcake die to use with my big shot (gotta love ebay!). Creating a clean and simple card is supposed to be easy but I often end up spending ages trying to decide what to put on the card! I recently found a blog I really like called Clean and simple and it really has inspired me. I love the simplicity of these cards and layouts.

But anyway, here's my cupcake card:

Circle - Nestie
