Sneak peek

Yes this is my final (and 3rd!) post for tonight!

I made this card with one of my upcoming DigiSparkle digistamp sets. She'll be in the nature fairies set, look out for her next month (where has April gone?).

Anyway, this is one of my favourite layouts as it's just so simple and allows you to really focus on the image (only good if you're pleased with you're colouring!)

This card is for these challenges:
ABC - Thank you
Flutter by Wednesday - CAS
Dare U 2 Digi - Flowers (there are some - promise!)
Allsorts - Photo inspiration (butterflies)
Pile it on - Something sweet (I think she's sweet!)

Something different

This card was definitely something different for me, on several layers ( no pun intended!)  I've always struggled with white on white and aqua so I tried to challenge myself totally for this card!  Quite a while ago I won some blog candy from Susan at Simplicity (an amazing CAS cardmaker - my 'go to' crafter for all things CAS).  She was doing a rainbow giveaway and I won her aqua day. Not having really used aqua before, I've tried to challenge myself to do some aqua cards, so here is the first of my aqua brainstorming.

This card is for these challenges:
Pink Elephant - Aqua
Pollycraft monday - Flowers
Die Cut Dreams - Flowers
Papertake - do something different
Fab 'n' Funky - No designer paper
CAS - Sketch

Charming

This card is for Stamp Something challenge - to use charms.

DigiSparkle Freebie Teddies

Just a quick post this morning. I'm slightly more awake so am able to post as Drew finally gave me a lie in - 6.10 am lol!

Anyway, I made this card with this month's Digisparkle freebie - Teddy Letters.

I know, I know! The background design (pink circles) doesn't really work.  I while ago I bought 2 boxes of Papermania Designer card bases, seemed like a good idea at the time, 70 cards and envelopes for about £5 making it less than 7.5p for a card blank and envelope! Amazing! Although not that amazing if you don't use them. So I've challenged myself to use them a bit more, consequently you'll be seeing a lot more card bases like this.  Hopefully they'll work better than this one! Oh and I just had to use one of my new nestabilities - labels eight.

Here is some candy from Pollycraft (cool digistamps) for reaching an amazing 750 followers - Well done Pollycraft!

Also they currently have this charity digi (with ALL £1.50 going to charity) you can find out more here.

Oh and they also have the cutest freebie dinosaur here.

One-Layer Wednesday

Over at Simplicity Susan is challenging us to create a card that is just one layer.  Love the idea and in creating I think I got a bit carried away!  My first card was the musical instruments and then I moved on to the cross stamp and probably would have kept going if my DH hadn't chosen that moment to tell me we were going out (to our local National Trust property - Biddulph Grange Gardens - great fun for the kids especially with that lovely weekend sun!)

I also read Kristina Werner's blog and just this Monday she has also challenged us to do a one layer card.
Sorry about the slightly dodgy photos this week - hubby is away in Germany (managed to get on the Eurostar!) so you have to put up with my photography skills!

These cards also fit into these challenges: Fab N Funky - neglected stamps (these have definitely been neglected!!) Stamptacular Sunday - Penguin (well they are black and white!)

Challenges, Flowers and a Fairy swing

I got a chance on Sunday to spend a couple of hours card making and I made quite a few cards for different challenges and if I don't upload them soon the challenges will be over so here are 2 cards in one go! Again I apologise or the quality of the photos - I just hope my DH doesn't look at my blog, he would be appalled!

This card was based on the sketch from CAS FTL86. I also intended it for the Pollycraft challenge (finished on Monday - oops), Daisy Doodles challenge, Pile it On challenge, Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge and Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge

This card started off based on Mercy's Tuesday sketch #69 and then I realised it also fitted into these challenges: Papertake Weekly, Creative Cottage, Stamp Something, Secret Crafter (this typifies our days out at the moment - pushing my children on the swing!) and By the Cute and Girly (my second entry, but this is a card and my other entry were my girls' birthday cakes!)

Birthday cakes

Here are the cakes I did for my girls' birthday.  Emily wanted a Fairy cake and Jessica a Princess cake.
I thought I would enter these for the By the Cute and Girly Challenge - Fairytales

Flower Power

Inspiration for this card came from three different sources: Elzybells, KWerner Design & CAS

I have been watching the Elzybells blog for a while and I love their new stamps and I adore Elizabeth's use of kraft cardstock.  My inspiration for this card partly came from this card of her's but seeing as I didn't have any appropriate flower stamps I decided to use my EK Success punches to cut out some stencils and I then used these stencils to sponge daube my ink onto the card.  I'm really pleased with the way this effect worked - fairly sure I'll do this again!

I also took some inspiration for this card from the latest CAS Fall to layout,  I say inspiration because the more I look at it the more it doesn't fit the sketch (must remember to have the sketch in front of me, not just in my mind!)

I really like Kristina's work and the biggest inspiration I have taken from her is not to be afraid to write your own sentiments. Kristina's writing is gorgeous, mine is less so but for the past year I have been practising my own handwriting so it looks 'professional' enough.  Finally getting to a stage where I'm beginning to like my handwritten sentiments. Thank you Kristina.

Anyway, after all that waffle I hope you like the card!

This card is for these challenges:

CAS - Fall to layout 85
Stamp Something - Stitching (Faux stitching & you could say my flowers are stamped!)
Cupcake - Make your own flowers

Pink

A very pink card, especially for me! Mainly because I wanted to enter it for a Monochromatic challenge over at Cute Card Thursday.  I've used a Pink Gem digi freebie, a Provocraft balloon die and my nesties (of course!)

This card is for these challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - For a child
Pink Gem - Birthdays
Get Sketcy - Sketch
Cute Card Thursday - Monochromatic + Digi image
Pollycraft - Anything Goes

Daisy Doodles challenge asked us to use this sketch.  It turns out that I'm a 'purpose crafter', I seem to create better when I have something to work towards and for this challenge I knew I needed to create a card for my brother-in-law who has just moved in with his girlfriend.  Had to think hard about this one as Welcome to your new home just wouldn't fit the bill. So I hope this is more fitting.  I used one of my new DigiSparkle digistamps, Fairy homes and of course had to use my new punches!

Children's challenge

Simon Says challenged us to let our little ones into our craft area.  My little ones have all had birthday's recently so they all needed to create birthday thank you notes.  So this is the result of letting Drew loose in my craft room.  He's only just 2 so he stuck the stickers on then I added the faux stitching and sentiment.
