A trio of bears

Crafty Sentiments have got a load of new bear stamps - Charles Bear and I really like them for male cards so here are a trio of cards I thought I would share with you. They were all coloured with copics, as per usual!

Inspiration

Where does yours come from? What inspires you to create a card or any project? I found my source came from several places for this card.  I love Emily's style and am constantly inspired by her (thank you Emily) and one of her most recent creations, here led me to think about rainbows, which I teamed up with this digi image from Papertrey Ink. But I had also been really inspired by the TSG blog hop and decided to use their TSG sketch from their recent challenge.

I layed cardstock and coloured the gems with copics.

I coloured the rainbow with glitter pens and as you can't see that from the picture above so I thought I would show you a little close up.

Fimo Fun

For Christmas I asked for some Fimo as I wanted to have a play. I had a go and you can see my first attempts here.  I had another 'play' again the other day and then again the following evening (is this another addictive hobby?) and I thought I would share my creations with you all.  I had bought a bit more fimo and really wanted to have a play with the nightglow block (glows in the dark - how cool is that!)

This is my second collection and it feels like I'm beginning to get more used to working with the fimo. I have turned these (not the octopus - if that's what it is!) into fridge magnets as a present for my aunt (hence the obscurity of a boat and highland shoes!) I'm not sure if you can tell but the unicorn's mane and horn, the inside of the shoes and the boat's sails are all nightglow - they look so brill!!!

One Layer Wednesday

It's been ages since I have participated in OLW, it's a great shame because I've just spent an hour remembering why I loved it! (To be fair it would have been shorter had I not had to deal with my son pooing where he shouldn't - I hate potty training!)

This week's challenge puts a real twist on OLW! Jennifer has challenged us to create 3 cards using the same stamp but changing the occasion on each of the stamps.  I recently received a stamp freebie in with one of my magazines and as I really wanted to ink this set up I decided this would be the perfect opportunity. I had decided on my card stock and stamped my images and was just about to start leafing through my sentiments when the doorbell rang. It was the postman with my new package including all the memento dew drop inks (ooooo - excited!) and a new Lasting impressions set of sentiments - perfect timing! I have never used a new product quite so quickly :)

I decided to change things up a bit and colour each with a different medium so I've used my Derwent Coloursoft pencils, copics and I tried to use my new memento inks with a Whispers blender pen - really pleased with the results.

Anyway, here they are:

Crafty Sentiments - Royal Wedding

I don't know about you but we will definitely be enjoying the festivities this week and in anticipation here is my card for the Crafty Sentiments challenge.  I used Wedding Amy for this card and added some Elzybells stamps (sadly closed!). I used memento Sahara Sand as I love the softness and of course I coloured it with my copics (I'm trying out some new hair colours - not convinced yet!) and I cut Amy out with my oval nesties and then embossed the bigger oval on the card base.

Come and join our celebration over at Crafty Sentiments :)

Simon Says - Anything Goes

Over at Simon Says they're celebrating their 2nd anniversary. I thought I would join in with their Anything Goes challenge as well as their blog hop :)

So here is my 'anything goes project' I really enjoyed creating this cutie, I used one of my own DigiSparkle digistamps Sit on it (remember this is your last chance to grab a bargain as we are closing soon)

I paper pieced the sofa, used nesites to create the circle and scallops and the polka dot border is a glittery sticker and the 'relax' sentiment is a rub on (doodlebug I think!) and I rounded the corners with my chomper.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

The sketch for this challenge is pretty cool (well they all are - I love the way Waltzingmouse sketches always allow for the CAS style)  It was a nice change to get my embossing folders out. I don't do it as often as I should.

I think you can probably guess the details of this one! Copics (what a suprise!) Waltzingmouse Half Pint Heroes, nesties, pink grosgrain ribbon and I stamped a sentiment from the Half pint heroes set and then used a cuttlebug embossing folder, oha nd it's all on a kraft background :)

Crafty Sentiments - Easter

Crafty Sentiments Challenge this week is to use EASTER as your inspiration.  I used one of the new Charles Bear images from Crafty Sentiments, this on is called Egg Anyone?  And I think I ought to add Yes Please!!!!! Got to love chocolate! Don't forget to check out the rest of Suzette's cute new images, there are quite a few of Charles Bear and some gorgeous new Manga images. Check these beauties out;

Anyway, for this week's card I added a computer generated sentiment before I printed him off (this is fast becoming my fav way of adding sentiments to my cards) and then I did some basic layering, Simple but I like it!
Please don't forget to check out my team mates cool creations here.

A case and some punches

This card is a CASE of this gorgeous card by the amazing Amy R, isn't it gorgeous? Well I thought I would do a CAS version of it.
I have been dying to use one of the Crafty Sentiments Amy stamps - this Amy Just Relaxing is one of my favourites but I just hadn't got how best to display her, but I really like this layout :) I think the only thing I would really change is I think I would do her hair a slightly different colour, I'm trialling new copic hair colours at the moment - I guess I need to do some more practising! Oh and I've decided I need to buy a grass punch (cutting this grass by hand took ages!)

I used my new nesties to create the background (I layered the grass and 'sky' paper before die cutting) and I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Crafty Sentiments Patches and Stitch stamp set. I coloured Amy with my copics and the polka dots on her top are done with my new Spica pink pen. I added my copic coloured butterflies (so they colour matched) and rounded the corners with my corner chomper.

I would like to enter this  card for these challenges:
Digi Tuesday - Punches

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

This week's sketch from Waltzingmouse is a brill one, it's so CAS.  Seeing as I only have one set of Waltzingmouse stamps (at the moment!) I used the Half Pint Heroes car to create this one.

Quite simple this one, I stamped the car and then curved the stamps on the block to create the curved sentiment.  I coloured with copics and added some stars using a punch and my nesties (and I coloured these with my copics too!) I also used my corner chomper to create the curved opposite corners.

Animals

Over at Little Claire's Designs the theme is Animals -  the minute I saw the theme I knew which card I wanted to show you.  This is one I created for my Mum (I created 30 cards in a box all labelled with their recipient and in birthday date order!) I created this with one of my more recent purchases - Changito the monkey, wanted him for ages!

I also want to enter this for the Sweet Stampin challenge - Chocolate

Flora & Chocs

Hi all, this is a little thank you I made for my friend as she kindly asked us round for dinner this week.  It was really good of her as my hubby was away so it was great to have a distraction and have some adult company not to mention the occupied children!  Anyway I used one of the new Crafty Sentiments manga design images, this is Flora, isn't she cute? Coloured with copics and cut out using nesties.

I really enjoy colouring with my copics (as regular readers may have noticed!) and have just blown a load more cash buying some so hopefully the'll arrive on my doormat today (but probably Monday knowing my luck!)  I really enjoy being challenged with my copics and so follow a couple of challenges to help me with this.  Copic creations' challenge this week is asking all about the paper we use.  I use a pack of presentation card from Tesco, it's certainly not perfect but it's the best I've found so far in the uk (without spending a fortune that is!)

Crafty Sentiments Challenge this week is to create a bookmark, I really enjoyed this challenge and am really pleased with the way it came out.  Please don't forget to check out my team mates cool creations here.

I used one of the new Manga's from Crafty Sentiments. I added a sentiment before I printed her out and then coloured her with copics (no change there then!) I teamed her up with some Smirk papers and used my new lacy circles to create the top circle. I finished it off by using my corner chomper on those corners.

Have a grrrreat day

I adore little animals and love this lion (even though I do say so myself!) He's one of my early DigiSparkle digistamps from the Animal Faces set. He was coloured with copics and I handwrote the sentiment and added some eyelets (you don't know how hard this was - I can be so inept!)

I would like to enter this in the CRAFT challenge whose current theme is Animals/pets.

Crafty Sentiments - Glitter

Glitter is the theme over at Crafty Sentiments this week. So, I created this card fully intending to glitter up the cloud but forgot what I was doing and used pink flocking instead! Oops.  Well at least I was able to add glitter to her wings and I used a pink Sakura gel pen that is pink and very glittery!

I used one of Suzette's gorgeous Amy's (Amy on a cloud) and used nesties to cut out the circles and half circle (used the out of the box technique to create the half circle panel).  Must say I love this colour combo, hot pink and black, it's a current fav!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Crafty Girls' amazing projects and have a go at your own glittery creation :)

Make it Colourful

This little guy is a freebie I got from buying from Pollycraft this week (you'll probably see some of my cards using those images soon!)

I really wanted to join in the Make it Colourful challenge this week and this little guy shouted bright colours to me!  I used my new nestie, coloured with copics and used a green grosgrain ribbon.

Ribbon Girl Giveaway

Look at this amazing giveaway from the Ribbon Girl - isn't it amazing, don't forget to check it out :)

R is for ribbon

Another challenge card, this one is for the ABC challenge, R is for Ribbon.  I love this grosgrain pink ribbon, it was in a bargain box at a market so nice and cheap but good quality! I think this is a Little Musings image.

Less is more - a touch of red

This is for the Less is more challenge, I created it ages ago but haven't 'blogged' it yet!  This was a really quick and easy one to put together with a couple of nestie shapes and a Penny black stickeroo.  Oh and my handwriting, hmmmm!
