Crafty Sentiments - A Sketch

This week's Crafty Sentiments challenge is definitely not my fav, it's a sketch and this is a tad out of my comfort zone as it has quite a few layers on it. But they always say a change is as good as a rest! I hope you like it!

I used one of the April releases, Welcome Little One, isn't she gorgeous! I coloured her with my new aqua copics.

Here's the sketch:

Don't forget to check out my teamates beautiful creations.

Welcome Baby

I needed to make a New baby card for my neighbour's new addition (I got to snuggle her the other day - ahhhhhhhhhh) I used a Little Musings image (I got this as a freebie from her blog - love this for baby cards.)  I coloured the image with my copics, I masked a strip and inked it up and then added afew stamps and some glittery MFT by the letters die-namics.

I want to enter this for this week's Less is More challenge

Crafty Sentiments New release

We've just had a gorgeous new release over at Crafty Sentiments and i just wanted to share one of my creations using Annabel - Party girl

Thursday 17 May 2012

I've been admiring a lot of the vintagy cards recently, especially ones that use birds and bird cages, butterflies or  generally ones that use a more silhouette style image.  I decided I wanted to have a go and since I have been going a bit digital lately I thought I would take go the whole hog, the pink square is one piece, I've masked using my computer!!  I used some gorgeous did stamps that are freebies from Sherry K Designs, go and check her out, she has some beautiful images, check out her blog for the images.  Hope you enjoy :)

Grandad

I've just realised that I never posted this! In February my Grandad turned 80 and I created the card above (using my new dies, mft star border and their 'by the letters' and 'by the numbers' dies.)  I was also commissioned to create the toppers for his cake! I don't think we ever got a decent photo so I'm afraid I'll have to show you these!  I made them out of fimo.

This supposed to be my grandad golfing. Hmm, not too bad!

We wanted to show off some of his hobbies over the years so there is football, table tennis, tennis, a flute and a bugle, a bible and that triangle at the back is supposed to be a tent!

Mother of all Blog Hops

Hello, Stampers!

Welcome to the 3rd annual Mother of All Blog Hops sponsored by There She Goes Clears Stamps!   Over the next two days, we (customers and trendsetters!) will be featuring some of our favorite There She Goes Clear Stamp sets!   Not only that, we’re going to give YOU a chance to win some fabulous prizes!
To find out how, please go to the There She Goes’ blog and read the simple instructions.

I really love this Holly Jolly set and I just wanted to show you how versatile a set it is by making 2 totally different style cards.  Although I seem to have gone for a similar layout (not intentionally but I guess that was where my mojo was!) I like that one is softer and shiny and the other has brighter colours, it means I should be able to match it to the right recipient!

This is the first card I made.  I masked off a strip and randomly stamped, then I coloured with my copics, added a little glitter to Rudolph's nose and added the twine and popped the sentiment up.

And for the second card I used the gorgeous die that goes with this set. I don't know whether you can see but I die cut pearlescent card which I then stamped the snowflake frame and sentiment on, I love the way it shines!  I started by stamping snowflakes from the set onto the card base and then I put vellum on, I've hidden the adhesive by putting paper twine over where the tape is and bling over where I put a drop of glue.

Thank you for visiting and now all you need to do is click on the InLinkz below and follow it to the next blog!

Something different

Hi all, just recently I've been quite interested in felt projects and I decided to have a go myself.  I really like the clip hangers I've seen on Etsy so I made one for the girls' best friends birthday.

I used a sizzix die to cut the butterfly, mft die-namics clouds and nestie blooms for the flowers on the clips.

And of course I made her a card ...

Crafty Sentiments - Mum

Crafty Sentiments challenge this week is devoted that most special person - Mum! This card however, is devoted to a different Mum, my MIL. She loves poppies so this will be winging her way soon.  I used one of the images that attracted me to Crafty Sentiments, unfortunately it's one of those images that is no longer available (won't stop me using it as it is definitely one of my go to images!!)

I coloured with copics (yeah, yeah will I ever change?) popped the dp on added a black cs die-namics scallop border and I used my die-namics By the letters dies to create the 'mum'.

Don't forget to bob over and show my teamies some love :)

Metropolis

Paper Smooches are challenging us to use cardstock, thankfully they've extended the deadline or else I'd have totally missed it!

I used my recently purchased (woohoo!) Paper Smooches Metropolis and I kinda cased Kryssi's card here

Enjoy ...

Christmas Card Challenges

Over at Christmas Card Challenges their theme this week is humour.  I thought hard about this one.  I remembered seeing some cool 'peas on earth' digis around, my fav is over at Whimsie Doodles.  However, I decided to really challenge myself this week (don't quite know why!) so I created my own digi (which you're welcome to have).  Once I'd created the digi this was a super quick card - print --> die cut --> punch circles --> stick on circles and sentiment --> add white doodling --> done!

Anyway, here it is ...

and if you would like it here are the digis, colour and black and white ...

Please remember not to share this on your own blog but feel free to direct people over here to me.  Thanks :)

Crafty Sentiments - Spots and stripes

I'm hosting over at Crafty Sentiments Challenge this week and it's spots and stripes, any colour or theme as long as there are those all important spots and stripes hiding in there!

I used one of the gorgeous Billy images, Birthday Presents. Isn't he a cutie and I'd love to know where those balloons are going to take him! I coloured him with my copics (note the pressie is spotty because I used the blender pen on it and there are spots around the image to try and highlight the fact that he's in the sky.) My papers are from a freebie pack that I got with a magazine and note that there are stripes and spots in the corners! I added a computer generated sentiment, inked around the edges and voila!

Don't forget to pop on over the the challenge blog and leave my teamies some love!
